Board of Directors Number: The corporate powers, business and property of the association are exercised, conducted and controlled by a Board of nine (9) directors. The directors are chosen by the cooperative’s members at the association’s annual meeting and serve for a term of one (1) year or until their successors are duly elected and qualified. In so far as practical, the membership of the Board of Directors will be distributed uniformly over the territory being served by the association and among the various interests represented in the association. Qualifications: Only persons who are substantial producers of agricultural products and who are members of the association are eligible for election to the Board of Directors of Stonington Cooperative Grain Company. Any director who engages in buying and selling on his own account any of the classes of products or supplies handled by the association will forfeit his right to office. At any regular or special meeting of the cooperative’s members, any director of the association may be removed from office in accordance with the Agricultural Cooperative Act of 1923, as amended. Meetings: Regular meetings of the Board of Directors are held at the home office on the second Wednesday of every month. Special meetings may be called at the home office, or elsewhere, upon order of the President or petition of one-third of the directors. Any kind of business may be transacted at a special meeting.
