It is necessary for a producer to make storage reservations in advance for any grain to be stored in SCG's facilities.

All storage requests must show the following information and it is the responsibility of the person making the request to furnish the information:

1. Commodity
2. Number of bushels
3. Name of producer for whom the storage is being requested
4. Grain division if request is for both tenant and landlord

Storage reservation forms are mailed to all patrons specifying the return deadline. A patron may mail or phone in the request. Confirmation of the request is returned to the patron by a specified deadline. It is the patron's responsibility to notify the elevator if a confirmation is not received by the deadline. If a patron does not have a confirmed copy of the request, no storage will be reserved. In the event management decides to offer unlimited storage, notice of this will be mailed in lieu of a request confirmation.

Reservations must be made for both corn and soybeans. Any overrun delivered will be considered cash grain.

Grain delivered during harvest that will be applied to post-harvest grain purchase contracts must have a storage reservation. It is the seller's responsibility to make this storage reservation.

Unused storage is returned to the cooperative and reissued to patrons who have not been able to obtain storage, or used by the company. It cannot be traded between patrons.

There may be times when the elevator is full and unable to receive grain covered by a storage reservation. This confirmation is still in force and space will be made available for the grain as quickly as possible.

The cooperative reserves the right to assess a penalty for storage space reserved but not used.

If a tenant or landlord reserves storage for several different farms in one lump sum and does not specify the exact amount of grain to be stored for each farm, the following policy will apply: grain delivered will be applied to the storage contract until full. Excess grain will be considered cash and sold at the close of each day. If the elevator is informed at a later date that storage was misapplied, it will be changed to comply with the patron's wishes, but cash prices will remain as originally applied.
